SYAA is excited to announce that construction of the batting cage at SBS is complete!
On May 23rd, the cage was officially opened as members of the SBS boys baseball and girls softball teams showed off their skills with an impromptu batting practice session.
SYAA committee members, Superintendent MacConnell, and additional faculty and staff were also on-hand for the opening of the 70 foot, state of the art batting cage, complete with a batter's mat and 7'x7' collegiate size L-screen and a dedication plaque.
Although the cage is on school grounds, it is available for use by the entire Shrewsbury community, and additional information on how to reserve time slots will be announced soon.
SYAA would sincerely like to thank Superintendent MacConnell for granting us the space on school property, the Shrewsbury Department of Public Works and Michael Tillett, Supervisor of SBS Building and Grounds for their collaboration on this project. Most importantly, SYAA thanks the Shrewsbury community for supporting our events so we can make projects like this become a reality!
